Now that Women's Health received a makeover, who do you think is next and why?

I am concerned about how much life Viagra has left in it and what that might mean. Trying to get to vaccines.

Nothing will happen until Fall 2016, Viagra goes until 2017, Est products in the process of being spun off & Lyrica has until 17/18. Cluster 1 has another pain med and hopefully the new diabetic med if it makes it.

Well, with Keith Moon and John Entwistle already deceased, it has to be either Pete Townshend or Roger Daltry. Id say Pete is next.

Cluster 1 will definitely have a makeover sometime in 2016-2017 in order to compensate for losing Viagra and Lyrica and the fact that the other side has Embeda isn't going to offset anything. King tried and failed to launch Embeda and despite the pain market knowing their is a serious issue with patients unintentionally becoming addicted to their meds or addicts seeking them out, doctors still would rather RX Oxy before they would Embeda. Some docs say it's because they don't want their patients believing their physicians think they have an addiction issue abs that's why they are being RXd and "Abuse-deterrent " alternative and some believe that by prescribing it they would be signaling to the DEA that they feel their patients are high risk and should be monitored more closely. All of these thoughts are just excuses but either way it is the reason why Embeda will most likely never be a money maker . No one is even discussing its ability to offer solutions to the addition epidemic on capital hill but yet with that pure form of Hydrocodone was fast tracked and approved by the FDA last year siting the lack of Acetomenophen as a positive to those dealing with liver failure. I would agree having a short acting pain med without Tylenol is a great idea because going over 2gms is quite easily done especially when Tylenol is a key ingredient in so many OTC medications. But the fact that the approval of that medication was all over the place and even was the target of several members of government who banded together to get its approval reversed. Would have been the perfect opportunity for Pfizer to capitalize on all of the discussion about painkillers and addiction and throw Embeda into the mix to get the conversation and buzz starting. But no, they decided to run a string of annoying commercials for Viagra making ED sound like the next epidemic to effect almost every man over the age of 40yrs. Women get to look forward to menopause and men get ED. Another thing to look forward to when my wife and I move into our 40s, lol.

So since Embeda is a dog with fleas in the eyes of the pain community , flector patch has been given up on, and Viagra and Lyrica are just waiting to go generic, layoffs are an unfortunate guarantee ......it's just a matter of not if but WHEN.

You only other option if you choose to remain with this outdated company with a reputation for canned reps whose ability to actually have non-iPad discussions with their docs a thing of the past is to get in front of the future reorgs and jump to VOC division. VAC is a fun division to be in from what every rep there says but remember it hasn't always been that way. The fact that legislation is what changed the division from dead in the water to the division to me in is scary because it can just as easily be taken away by another recommendation for another vaccine. So ride the wave of prosperity while it's there and hopefully the pipeline will remain robust and fruitful. Onc division seems to be good from what their reps say and having a mirror can either be good or bad depending on each reps ability to be a good team player .with access being notoriously hard with these specialists due to the nature of their jobs, a lot of reps sacrifice their weekends and other non-traditional office hours in order to attend conferences , grand rounds , etc in order to find any opportunity to meet with their HCPs. But with PFE grossly underestimating the potential for their newest BC drug , resulting in most of the division being 100%+ over goal, they will suffer in 2016 when Pfizer figures out how to reverse that prosperity and severely raise goals. So cash as many bonus checks as you can now because those days will soon be over and you will have to switch up your approach in order to come close to the bonus check you were once making.

WH division is dead in the water and what is the biggest joke is the ones who were retained are almost all wishing they had received the minimum 4.5 months of severance (2mo notice period at full pay plus minimum 11wks severance pay in addition to unemployment of $1800/mo) not bad as it allows us to be paid to look for a better and more stable company and division . My former colleagues call me every day as they are driving the extra hour+ in windshield times they now have with their crappy territories and I feel bad for them. I was hurt at first when told the news I was being let go until I learned about the new territory maps and management structure of what remains. Not to mention the division will be dismantled inside of a year so the reps who don't jump ship before then will be faced once again with another reorg and rush to fight for whatever open positions there are in the VOC division . It's so unfortunate because everyone busted their asses to get Duavee off the ground and we grew it at a rate better than any other recent product launch and all within its first 2yrs. Duavee did not fail, Pfizer failed to allow the team time to really show the company what it could do . Pfizer is so short sided and the reps always pay the price. I was going to look at applying for other divisions at Pfizer but then decided to cut my losses and look for opportunities outside of the company because in my time with this company I realized it is not going to suddenly turn things around like in a Rocky movie and find new strength in the 9th round and go for a knockout. Once I realized that I made the decision that despite assurances that if I wanted a position in the Onc division I could have it, I no longer wanted my wagon hitched to this sinking ship. I hate leaving some of my colleagues because I made some really great friends here but that doesn't make up for having the worst manager on earth who needs to go back to manager training and learn how to effectively lead a team without making your reps hard you and want to all quit the minute they get better offers. Karma is a bitch and she is definitely getting hers right about now.

So jump ship or stay but either way just be prepared for the roller coaster ride if you have not already made your way to the VOC division and are still in WH OR CLUSTER 1.

Good luck to all reps cause none of this was your fault. It's the management teams fault. We really don't need DMs to come out just to see how many times we use our iPads and how many slides we are able to fucking click on. Really??? That's your fucking job and you think you are in some way making a difference ?? What a joke. We only do it when your around so we can check the box until you are gone and then we went right back to trying to actually talk to our doctors without shoving an iPad in their face like a little drone monkey. My wife always laughed when I told her the bullshit I had to deal with from my manager and when she would catch me role playing before POA meetings to make sure if I was tasked to give a canned detail in front of the team, I didn't laugh or forget my Fair & Balanced wording shoved down our throats.

Trust me when I say getting laid off from here is not such a bad thing if you are a solid rep with good numbers to show another company during an interview because if you can collect your severance checks while starting a new job and getting paid there too, YOU HIT THE JACKPOT for at least 2-3 months....never let Pfizer think they have any control over your career and that without them you have nothing. I have already turned down 2 offers since 10/2 with Roche and GSK because they were not the right fit but the comps were way better than Pfizer . I just wanted to see if I could get an official offer made to prove their is plenty of life after this hell hole. Have 2 more interviews with other great companies with once again better pay and small territories so I'm hopeful I will like one of them so if I get another offer this time I will accept. And I will not tell Pfizer and instead keep the 8wks notification pay plus my full 5 months of severance pay and hold my middle finger up the entire time. I call this money my "take my family to Hawaii for the holidays" fund :)

The best situation you could hope to be in is just like me: a retiree with numerous years in and under my belt. Free from all of the nonsense, nice retirement money, etc. stressless and no more worries about inept management. Life is great; I hope everyone can enjoy and appreciate like me some day.

We'll be fine. I know that Republicans have decimated the Middle Class over the past 35 years but we've faithfully voted for them all that time so they owe us and I know they will make sure shit doesn't happen to us!!!
