Just work very hard and maybe one day you will be in the position to make decisions in the corporate world.......until then, just do what your job description outlines.

That is the kind of thinking that ruined this once great company.

Amen. Also, ranking salespeople on SALES would be objective and most reps would agree that this is fair because they can see exactly where they stand each week when the numbers come down. Ranking people on the current subjective, kiss-ass behaviors is the reason why truly talented salespeople leave. The company is left with brown nosers filled with hot air.

It's very sad to see employees who have been asked to leave and have low skill sets, come to this site trying to degrade our great company. Once you are fired it is imperative that one must seek another job quickly, or spend the rest of your lives hating your former company.

Umm, what #4 was saying was that low skill set people are what's left. Delusions are comforting I guess!

Or I could just sit in my office full of all my sales trophies and platinum award trip memories and live comfortably on my seven figure 401k. And still be able to comment on how big of a POS company GSK has become. Ha

In my 40 years with GSK, I knew hundreds of successful award winners. None were boastful and none bragged about their success. They were very confident gifted people.

This poster must be a millennial playing on-line......certainly not a high skill-set person.

You won't see how little talent there is at GSK, until you leave and start working at a functional company with real leaders. It will be a decade before GSK recovers from this nonsense.

Here is the simple truth. "Pharma sales" is one of the most unique jobs on the planet. What we are is not exactly sales people, we are a manufactures representative. We educate the customer on where our product may work best. Unlike any other type of sales, there are a myriad of things that could prevent the sale from ever occurring, such as a patient having a side effect to a sample we have left, lack of managed care coverage, pharmacy switching. Post #4 claims that "sales numbers" are objective. Actually there not. Not in this industry. How many times have we seen someone achieve the highest level of winners circle but all of their Rxs came from 3 docs? How many times have we seen a territory remain open for 9 to 12 months and that territory was at the top of the leader board? I have seen stellar reps who have never won winners circle and I have seen mediocre reps with multi-tier awards. We have all seen this. Territories should have a value placed on them. Another words, each territory should have a minimum sales dollar amount that makes them viable. Each territory should be able to support the rep, manager RD, etc. So If a territory generated a million in sales, that would be viable. Now performance management comes in when the rep does not execute specific company directives etc...or if the territory falls below the established dollar threshold. I could go on about how GSK has too many managers, too many meetings, too much BS, etc etc etc

You are a blend of a UPS driver and food service person. You drop off samples and bring food for the staff. That means you can have a second career in delivering packages or working in a food establishment.

So sad to see wannabees on this site , along with those who have been fired. Please go find another hobby for a mentally challenged mind. There is no shame in being fired by our great company, because we seek quality people and some just can't hack the challenge and responsibility !

There are also many employee who simply quit this once great company- no lay offs, no firings,
just quit because they needed to look themselves in the mirror. They started with a noble company and ended up with crooks.

The challenge and responsibility of what? Ass-kissing on a 1 to 5 stack-ranked scale because of no objective measurements?!
