The lawsuit sounds like a plan. My CTL completely fabricates FTR and she has ordered us to do "more calls" on people we see once a week??? MRK field sales is the best reality show ever.

That's because they were spat upon, kicked when they were down, vanquished to the dark corner of the room, made to feel inhuman.

Wise up and don't strut around just because you didn't have the target on your back. And before you feel too important or obliged to respond- just remember this job is just is about relationships, delivering sandwiches and doughnuts and dropping off samples. Nothing more. The educational aspect has been replaced by how our products are going to get paid for.

Again dumbass, names! If you were fired it was because you were too stupid to succeed.

On the contrary, most of those fired were targeted because of their success….and the high salaries that their success delivered. If you're still employed at Merck, it's because you're part of a "Protected Group", because you haven't yet become a big future pension obligation or because you are paid relatively little. Period.

You are a complete idiot. You type in generalities and never answer a direct question. Names, places and times, Facts if you are incapable then shut up!

If you can't see the utter devastation that has occurred here (about 40,000 families shit on thus far, while the execs make tens of millions in compensation), then there is absolutely no hope for you. You are perfect for Merck---brainless and heartless. Just perfect.

I'm sure a lot of these posts are from HR people inside who are trying to make sales people worried enough to quit! What a great idea. Create uncertain, and people will begin job searching. If by chance they find a better position and quit, no payout from Merck! A few months ago a person posted that a couple people got canned in a Texas or Florida District. When challenged to post initials...no response! Also, a couple people from the District responded nobody was let go. HR or management flunkies stirring the pot. Scare tactics!

As a "retired person" all I can tell you is that very, very few jobs will pay the total package any rep gets from a pharma company (especially a major one like Merck). You become very expensive for the company with all of your benefits especially if you have a spouse and kids on the medical plan. They hope you will quit so they can hire a 25 year old. Don't do it! Wait for a package and use the job to your advantage whatever that means to different people. And enjoy that company car with all of the perks.

The laid off and pushed out will agree with this post. It is correct. 100% correct!

There are few jobs paying much of anything around. If you were making near 6 figures from salary and bonus expect to look high and low to find a job ....and if you do find one expect about half the income; two thirds if you hit it big.

If you are young - 20s and 30s you're in demand. Jobs are paying low. That car and 35-65K paycheck is a big draw for the young college grad. The companies know all about the glut of college grads living with the folks and able to get by on the below modest paychecks...

Solution for the older employees with real financial obligations might be changing fields completely.... especially if you don't have a niche, hard to find or in demand specialty.

It seems all of pharma is on the decline.....

Recruiters are now inundated with resumes...

Why does anyone want to give names? So some dumd broad can say "oh yeah he was full of himself" or some primadonna can say say "she sucked." Why give names? Isn't enough damage done or or are you one of the people who feel special? Ohhhh yeah you're special. Yeah. Keep chugging the Koolaid brother. Wait till your ass is bounced with about 20-25 earning years brother. Then you show up at the next job interview with your skill sets of...[blank].

    20-25????
Gad zooks.... who makes those big numbers?
Only the chosen..leaving with a plump windfall.

For others......getting to the golden 10 bridge might not happen...

Names are facts not delusional bullshit. Many many of those terminated deserved to be let go. If there are exceptions name names otherwise shut up and go away!

    Tell the truth!!
There are folks who went from awards to a year down and are now out the door...

Hysterical how managed care losses or thought leaders bailing out on your product are not considered in the mix.

Definitely a "what have you done for me lately" environment!!
If you lose the numbers due to XYZ and not you...you can still be out the door.

Past performance, last year's hot rep? Who cares! Bye, Bye!!

We need a contest on the best story.

There are reps in territories that are being backfilled with CSOs....young 20 somethings with little to no experience. Even upper management can't hide it's disdain for tenured reps because in their mind the rep position is worthless now.

That mindset has been in place for several years. And it's correct. Access has tanked and so has the value of the rep. Have a Publicis "rep" sample drop for one-third the price and to hell with our employees. As long as the execs keep making millions, who cares if 30 or 40 thousand families suffer a little?

People in their prime work years can't get hired anymore? The most experienced and skilled pushed out and replaced by inexperienced, cheerleaders and football hunks...who work cheap enough to live with their folks...

Aren't upper management making plenty more than reps? Isn't that really where the big money goes? Sounds like misplaced disdain...Should we replace the "crusty" upper management with inexperienced, 30 year old MBAs?

    Same difference....
