They will announce GB's replacement by the end of the week. Saw him at 2 Hilton today meeting with RL. Carl Spackler from Abbvie is what I was told.
Who? I assumed they would just roll sales and marketing into the same department. DSI is going to be a $300 million company with marginal products, so they don't need two VPs for this.
This could be huge! I was at Abbott when Spackler led the transition from Abbott to AbbVie. This may be an indication that we will be bought out.
Boom! Spackler is top notch. Finally, KK and RL are doing something right. That was their only play. We have to be bought out to survive. I believe that we will win. I believe that we will win!
Spackler out. Refused the job. Going back to Bushwood. Rumor at 2 Hilton Court is Bob Abooey will be brought in for an interview with DSI on Thursday. He's a great guy with a proven record of success and was RL's bawth at Abbot. He would be a great addition to the "Good Ship Lollypop".
Spackler has some international management experience. I know he spent some time in Hong Kong. Heard a great story of him meeting the Dalai Lama once. By him having a connection to the Asian markets, it just makes sense that he ends up at a Japanese pharma company. So at least we have this going for us now, which is nice.
Spackler had lunch at 2 Hilton today. He tried to order everything on the menu and RL was overheard saying "you'll get nothing and like it." I'm not sure Spackler new what he was getting himself into at DSI.
RL will be the new VP of sales and marketing. There is no doubt of that. All senior directors and above in HO should seriously consider taking the VTP.
I agree 100%. If they were serious about making true cuts, he'd get MM also and get rid of SS. Look how marginalized his area has become. He's a VP with Directors reporting to him. Before he had Senior Directors only. Maybe Assbury will get a promotion when SS gets the axe.
The only people who are safe are KK, RL, SS and the people they have brought with them from Amgen. Almost everybody else will be screwed.
Sadly you are correct. KK and SS are boys in a man's job. They are so junior and bush league it's pathetic. RL is just a whore. Why KK brought him along is a mystery. Word is KK knew what RL was all about and still thinks he's a sales guru when in fact he's a class action suit waiting to happen. But these three geniuses will be spared, collect their fat checks and lay everyone else off on Christmas Eve. Nice.....
