Serious question

Does anyone know if I can use my company car to be an Uber driver? I can't seem to find any sort of company policy on this, so I'm assuming it's ok to do.

I used my wife's insurence on her car. Im moonlighting for Uber Black using my DSI 2015 black Toyota Camery

 

I drive for Lyft. As a newer company, DSI doesn't have any policy regarding them yet. I typically pick up a passenger on my way in to territory each morning. I then simply do my second pickup from 2 pm on, once I'm done with my day. It's worth it to me since I'm not paying for gas. Couple hundred bucks in my pocket each week.

 

So how did you explain the difference in car you pick passengers?

There is a company policy against this - under the compliance standards of business conduct you can't use any company property for outside employment or other activities.

Working as an Uber driver and certified delivery driver are the best way to make extra money. At least $3k /mths. As long as I can keep the company car until March it would be awesome - $15k, 5 mths pay, total bonus, and 4 mths severance. Then, do it again with the new job.

 

This is what I'd go with. If anyone is using the car for other purposes and it's discovered, I'd expect there to be some adverse consequences.

Well that's obvious. If you're not doing it, look into it people...the money is seriously good. It's better than IC. I would have had to finish top 5-10% every single quarter to equal or come close on what I earn from doing Uber this past year. It's time to start looking out for #1 first...and that's you. DSI's not going to.

 

I agree with everyone else. If I got fired tomorrow because of this...it will have been worth it. The supplemental income from doing Uber has been that good.

 

My girlfriend said my DM will not be checking on us for the next few months. Her husband is too busy interviewing.
