No and it still sucks and doctors that used it trash talking it now. Your go to marketing plan backfired hard. Nice work.

So even if we see more robots placed in q3 than q2, the predominant opinion is that surgeons don't like the robot and it won't be utilized???

The Salesreps, Docs, OR Staff, PDs (especially ones dedicated to capital expenditures), stock holders, and casual respondents at accounts and here have expressed their opinions and it's far from positive. In my territory there is zero interest int his product, zero. The rap on the product is that it adds unnecessary time to procedures. The accounts I have talked to want to invest there capital dollars in a product that is relevant now, not for when Docs supposedly will be profit sharing, and that isn't a fun subject to discuss with them either. 9 years selling for Stryker, that might be the worst pitch I have ever heard from the home office.

So far, the only people I have run into excited about this are in house avps who are over the project, or the group of fragile millennial marketing associates sent to each region to promote.

Hit the nail on the head with that one. Now we have to listen to another new marketing approach to selling mako. I guess telling hospitals their surgeons suck wasn't working.... to the "investor", dump your money into stem cells. Win win win.

Wow these fragile millennial marketing folks as you say took a ton of business from stryker depuy zimmer biomet not only on pka but hip remember???
The problem is you prima dona recon reps who are afraid to embrace the tech so you down talk it every chance you get
You are threatened by these folks and afraid stryker will replace you
Get off your box opening high horses and allow it to grow your business so you might get to the gym at 430 instead of 330 so what

Investor here. Is there / Will there be any clinical data on any of the Mako implants used on the robots to show the robotic procedure has better outcomes than normal/hand cut procedures?

Yes, it was addressed on an investors call earlier this year. Very positive

The q4 Capitol spending crunch was the positive. Numbers falling hard since. The recent call was, well let's say constructive.

I only come to this thread to watch Marketing poorly impersonate investors. Softball leading questions with canned responses. Responses all to familiar to anyone who has heard the early and current sales pitch for the failed product.

Crazy thought, how would things go if the sales force was brought in on acquisition ideas, gave feedback of customer wants and needs, and was involved with the right way to roll out the product. That way we could avoid the embarrassment of the millennial Marketing force showing up at accounts and offering to put Docs on local billboards with their arm around the robot. They still talk about that at one of my accounts by the way, thank for that.

Investor here. I have no affiliation with Stryker other than watching it for many years achieve 20% earnings growth, making good returns during that time, getting out of Stryker stock after missing 20% earnings (2004) and now trying to figure out if this Mako thing is a homerun so I can determine if I can should get back in...PERIOD. Get over it.

    Constructive? Please elaborate.

So you are letting conversations on Cafe Pharma steer your investment portfolio. Do you know how completely ridiculous that sounds?
I work in MDT sales and I wouldn't move a single dime into any MDT stock without serious matching from an employer or an MDT manufacturer having a diverse portfolio outside of just MDT revenue.
Needham just downgraded SYK from Buy to Hold a few weeks ago, I'm sure you noticed that also in your research.

Someone else nailed it above, if you are looking to invest focus on J&J, interesting rumors of the stem cell stuff thats right around the corner. Much larger portfolio, and will fair much better if the Liberals win in 2016 and the MDT tax holds or goes up as rumored.

Thanks. This board is just one data input for my investment decisions. Just trying to get as much valid, detailed info as possible.

They are hiding the fact that Cigna and Humana are now rejecting payments for CT scans for Mako cases. Blue belt is still being approved though.... How come Stryker will not address this issue?

I heard this was happening also mostly in Midwest. It was brushed under the rug immediately as if it was known it was going to happen since the acquisition. What's the real story on non payment for the CT?

Its not just the midwest, its in my region too and we are not midwest, far from it.
The home office has had no official response....as usual.

One of my doctors brought this up to me. I had not heard about it and was actually trying to sell a unit. Anyway around this?

This is going to really piss off the doctors when patients come back bitching about the bill they got. Only way around it is to have patients pay cash for their CT if they want mako used on them. The hospitals associated with mako are pointing the finger at Stryker now, some want money back. Imagine paying a million dollars in last 6 months for a unit, having all your patients get a CT at your facility, then everyone getting a nice fat bill to pay before SX because insurance will not pay for the CT. Can we please get an actual response to tell our customers what is going on? Screwed us on otismed and now mako?
