Could not have said it any more poignant. Thank you for a very well stated fact!

Perfect way to sum it up . Leaving or remaining with dignity is important. The ones on here talking shit about their fellow colleagues are nothing but fucking cowards who probably wouldn't have the balls to say anything directly to their face. Giving them any power is counterproductive so just push past their idiotic assess and move on. I bet they were just upset someone nailed it on the head why they may have been retained and it stung. Just accept you puckered up and for what, to stay in the WH GEP division. Well congratulations and have fun while we all enjoy our severance packages for the next 6 months while we look for a much better, higher paying , opp in medical device, biotech, research start-ups, etc. you wouldn't believe how many open positions their are right now across the industry all over the country. Check out LinkedIn and see for yourself. Don't settle for being on a team with cowards who talk behind your back because they are too weak to talk to you like an adult. Has to be a woman who put that chick on hot seat a few posts ago. We men are never that petty. I bet she was prettier or smarter than you so you came on CP to talk shit behind her back. Now I kind of like to meet her and shake her hand for obviously pissing you off to the point of throwing a tantrum anonymously.

Good for everyone else for remaining classy and just giving info or passing on well wishes to everyone no matter their outcome yesterday. My wife always says that how you leave your old position is the attitude and baggage you will bring with you to your new position, so keep it positive and light. Wise woman. Been here a while but I'm still going to miss a lot of my fellow colleagues. And to the coward, wether it's PMS OR MENOPAUSE, TAKE A PILL AND CHILL. Your racist comment has you showing your true colors. Someone on here will figure out who you are once the dust settles so you can't hide forever. Any guesses folks on who it is that launched the personal attack on our fellow colleague?

Man, do I feel bad for the new WH team. Saw the new territory maps and those are SHR size but resting on the backs of a PHR. All that new windshield time and same PHR pay range and comp. I hope you have satellite radio cause with the new geographies for the territories, you are going to need Fox News. I feel even worse for those who don't even live in their new territories so have to add that drive time to just the new extra 2-3hr territory . They better give you a raise come 2016 or new comp range now that there are fewer reps.

The true story is that we have rid ourselves of the dead weight. We are now leaner and will be meaner. We had a ton of people who were doing nothing, I repeat nothing. Now we have the best of the best who know how to sell and manage their territories, Let's just hope that the DM's that have been retained are smart enough not to rehire the dead weight back into their teams. That will be a huge mistake for them and their future assessments.

thats complete bull sh*t! I was retained and I do not believe that one bit! This industry is a joke. You need to wake up and smell the coffee. You are no different or better than who was unfortunately let go.We don't sell anything...we are a walking billboard for our products. Doctors write what insurance pays for. Leaner and meaner!! What a joke!

If you ride around all day listening to Fox News you're a clueless idiot who doesn't deserve a real job.....

What the hell else are you supposed to do when you are stuck in traffic for 2hrs or have 45-60mins in between accounts because the new territory sizes are basically what an SHR would cover in some divisions??? But if you must use that time to practice your sales pitch and envision each iPad slide , be my guest. I just know if I was still a PHR suddenly ripped out of my territory and given one that looks like an SHR's, but I'm not getting a raise or extra money in comp ( with less reps in division why can't comp now be higher for remaining reps) I would be sad and wished I had been let go. A few reps in the Midwest and east coast called me when they saw their new territories and I swear they wanted to punch a wall. Especially those with kids because gone are the days when you can leave early to pick up the kids from school unless you want to explain why no signatures after 4pm. You guys wanted to keep your jobs and in the end wound up wishing for the severance. Just be glad you have a job because no job is perfect but it keeps the lights on and the kids fed.

New TCL lists can be downloaded now. Not very many targets. Only 85 for me. Of course 75% of the big players are 2+ hours away and brand new to me. What were they thinking when they drew up these territories. So many offices closer to where I live are now aligned to a rep who lives 2 hours from them!! Makes no sense. Hope they let us do some switching

My point was Fox News is such garbage that if you're a big fan of it you're a clueless idiot. Listen to light rock or the oldies so you can relax between calls, or NPR if you want a balanced and thoughtful discussion.

You never knew the good old days when we were treated like real people instead of being used, abused and dumped. Our jobs used to be perfect before NYC leadership started squeezing and squeezing and squeezing. The truly scary thing is in twenty years you'll be looking back at 2015 as the good old days.......

I was referring to getting laughs while listening to Fox News to help lighten the mood when you just drove 2+ hrs to see an account only to find out they left because a patient is in labor. Got to lighten the mood at that point to avoid being annoyed so I listen to Fox News because some of the stuff they say on there is so off the wall. But mostly I just pop on a good playlist and relax to some jazz or smooth R&B. At the end of the day the point I was trying to make is do whatever helps you stay positive and make the new rediculous drive times a little less frustrating or boring depending on if you live in the city and have traffic or live in the valleys where there is nothing to see on either side for miles. I just call my coworkers I can vent to that understand and that does the trick especially if it's 11am and I still haven't seen any of my HCPs and my mgr is bugging me about getting signatures first thing in the morning. If I now live 2.5hrs away from the bulk of my major accounts , how am I'm supposed to get a signature by 9am when you add an extra hour of traffic and have dinner with my kids if I don't get home until 7:30pm every night now. Our whole life has to be adjusted on picking up kids, carpool, after school sports, etc thanks to the fact I live 45mins outside of my territory now . The best part of being in our business was the reasonable hours and thanks to the idiots who drew up the new maps, our lives are completely flipped upside down.

I see the rest of us that were retained all quitting within 6mo or sooner depending on how quickly we find another job. WH is over!!!! I'm not missing my family just to get a sig by 9am as if that means I'm doing my job. Never mind the fact my numbers are up, nope, it's how many detail/sig calls I get and did I see 8-10 docs each day. Guess the days of letting us manage our own territories is dead. Talk to me if my numbers drop but until then, back the hell off of me and let me do what I feel is best for my accounts including how knowing how often to see them . No doc wants us in there every other week let alone 9X each QTR.

Wishing I had gotten the severance check and been done with this. I would have enjoyed my 60 day notice period, then applied for unemployment on Dec 1st and cashed that check along with my severance for the next 5months while I looked for the right job. Basically letting Pfizer pay me to look for an even better paying more rewarding job :)

Unfortunately, or intentionally Pfizer has created a turn and burn division. There will be a high rate of turnover in these territories, so they will never have to worry about anything associated with a long term employee. Less benefits to pay out, always a newer rep in the territory having less vacation time so always more promotional time, less the additional drive time. You won't receive nearly enough starters, so money saved. Maybe they should have kept smaller productive territories and made these flextime positions.

But make sure you give them good ratings next time, so you don't adversely impact anyones' ratings or bonuses.

    Dear overpaid dummy,
You are not a CEO and you don't manage your territory. You are a shitty rep whose job actually is to make calls on customers and sell when you are there. You don't own your customers or make decisions that change the landscape of an organization. These expected actions make you a representative of PFE and its products and no more than that! Get off of your high horse or go to another company that will make you do the same thing because you will not get a better job.
Regarding having to work later hours, welcome to the real world idiot. Everyone outside of pharma sales work extended hours and are expected to do so.

Horrible post but for a fact, pharmaceutical sales has not been part of the real world for the last 50 years. We've had it oh so easy. You'll notice the Pfizer manufacturing board on Cafepharma still doesn't have a single post - they're all working their asses off to making a living......

Who the hell are you to call anyone a shitty rep when your ass is probably just jealous that I make more money than you ever will no matter many asses you kiss. The only people going on here talking shit just for the hell of it are assholes like yourself. Why don't you take the stick out of your ass and find something constructive to say in your life.

And we do manage our territories asshole. It's called reviewing sales analytics and understanding your business then applying your business acumen to then figure out the best way to grow sales revenue and hit your quota. Your idea of manage your territory is probably to just develop a weekly routing plan and just doing the same thing week after week. You are probably one of those "can I get a quick signature doctor and by the way Drug XYZ is now tier 2 on Aetna". You probably would consider that a sales call too. You are what's wrong with this whole industry .

Just don't hate on those of us who do still try and make a difference and stand out from the rest of the drone reps desperate for signatures . This industry has changed and if you aren't willing to adapt but instead just collect your checks and be home by 2pm, do what you want. But I'm lot a shitty rep just because I actually work for a living and find ways to make an impact with each of my accounts . I'm not a CEO but what the fuck does that have to do with anything.

To randomly attack someone sounds like your life sucks and you just want everyone else around you to feel miserable too. Sorry I can't do that for you. I live a great life with lots of friends and enjoy the fruits of this job by going on fantastic trips and buying whatever I want. Life is short and if you don't enjoy it while there is still breath in your lungs, you are THE DUMMY!

Hey asshole, not every industry outside of pharma expects its reps to work extended hours. Just because you are exempt doesn't mean you suddenly are expected to pull in 11hr days.

The fact is working 9-5pm is not realistic but neither is leaving ones house at 7am and getting home at 7pm for a territory you didn't sign on for. It is one thing if these new territories were what was originally designed and we all willingly applied for them knowing the impact to our lives it would have. But to switch it up almost 2yrs later and have a lot of reps now suddenly 1hr always from the tip of the territory with several overnights added to the monthly schedule is not what we signed on for.

So either quit or grin and bars it until something else open us in another division. Either way it sucks because no one in the new WH division is happy and unhappy reps makes for a very shitty division. I can't even imagine the propaganda

You are giving yourself way to much credit. You don't manage shit and are really never held accountable when you don't perform. OMG-you know how to review sales analytics based upon who PFE tells you to see based upon a cadence that they set for you.
If you really managed your territory you would be asked for input on what your budget should be. Your job, whether you can accept it or not, is to make calls and sell when you are in front of customers. You are a walking commercial.

for the majority of those whose pharma sales career comes to an end due to layoff, they will have a rude awakening in the real world with little to offer in transferrable skills. for those will in pharma rep sales, look now for opportunities outside of industry where you will broaden your resume. as bad as the reply is, it is more true that most of you will realize until it is too late.

    Good points.
The clowns (apology to real clowns) upstairs havent a clue. Cant they get the territories right for
more than a year or two? Am I asking too much?
