How's the morale overall? Many people are hanging on but some will soon jump ship. I'm sure managers are doing what they can to retain good talent.
Well, despite some solid reasons to stay, several have, as you predicted above, abandoned ship very recently. I don't see how those departures can look good to anyone, particularly those higher up.
Face it, if you can secure a position with more security than what this really offers and if you're the sole breadwinner, then you do what you have to. Hanging on for a retention bonus seems logical but that money won't go far if you're axed next year and a solid opportunity ( I.e. Intercept) happens to present. The leadership here is a weak group starting with the dude with the British accent followed by the guy who can't figure out what to wear from breakfast to dinner.....take that as a hint that the brain trust is not so sharp.
Not to mention the "leaders" thrive on drama. Trust me, it's unbelievable the littlest of things become high drama with a million emails sent amongst them. Never witnessed so much bureaucracy within other companies - was a chief reason to split early.
Intercept is a two year gig at best. The Vertex reps are all going there and will go somewhere else when it's time to start selling something (again)
LOL. Uhm, after today's press release by Gilead Sciences, exactly how much time do you think there is to remain where you are?? If you say we have two years at best, I would think that is pretty good comparatively.
So you honestly think your safe? I believe everyone who decided to stay did so with that in mind unless your totally clueless. The bigger question is how much time do you have?
Well from the looks of it so will you!!! You left one niche drug to sell the (I would be stupid if I didn't take this opportunity drug)! Your launch has been pushed back more times than the amount of patients you will be able to treat. But hey, how fb you like it I LOVE IT!!!!! In other words we are all in a similar situation!!!
So how many of you made $$ last year? It ain't gonna last so bank on that retention bonus you signed onto.
