So I'm filling out my online job application for a Publicis sales job. I add my resume and cover letter, blah, blah, blah. I then get to the "special" questions at the end. One of them is "do you have any work gaps in your resume? WTF!?!?!?!

So work gaps are a problem for you PSS? I guess it's because there are so many reps CURRENTLY working at big pharma companies that suddenly decide they want to apply for a contract sales job? ARE YOU HIGH??????

NEWSFLASH!!! We are applying to PSS because we are sad and desperate and stugglng to maintain some sort of decent standard of living. THERE WILL BE WORK GAPS IN OUR RESUMES!!

You would think of all companies, a contract sales organization would get that...but no!!

    AMAZING!!

There is no logical reason to ask that question unless it is a quick way to eliminate some of the applicant pool who aren't working. How many people that already have a job would want to apply for a contract sales job? It makes no sense!?!

Great point. The answer is yes they are high, but not the way one would assume...Not pot, but delusional stupidity. Most of the client reps have gaps in their resumes. I never filled out an application that asked about gaps. They have probably escalated themselves in their imaginary reality.
Most people who esteem themselves as brilliant think outside of the box. These guys think beyond the box only because they have no fucking idea where the box is. Did they lose it or throw it away? Yeah... This place is that insane!!!
They need to find the fucking box and humbly crawl back into it, find their but hole with their index finger and plug it ;because there's nothing but shit everywhere at this place.

You are so right! They actually create gaps in people's resumes. This is NOT a "career destination" as they keep trying to get people to believe! The question is "How long can you survive on this salary?". And if you stay, how many gaps will you have? How many years of no income do those gaps add up to? With that in mind, the pay is not even as good as you think it is when you account for gaps between contracts. It is a terrible life to live - working on a contract unless you have a spouse with a steady job. Let me make that point perfectly clear - this is not a steady job. Doesn't everyone want a steady job that wants to work?

Exactly! There is absolutely no logical reason for them to ask if there's a job gap. What a bunch of buttmunches
