What is the real future of GSK?

I think the negativity is due to the following: it is the rank and file employee that pays for the mistakes of senior management. Why is there a complete lack of accountability with AW, MS, or PV? Pipeline criticism aside, what sayeth thee about Sirtris and the 1 BILLION dollars paid? About paying $3 billion for HGS? Did $3 billion justify the price for HGS? I know Bill Hazeltine (founder of HGS) must have been thrilled. Funny how some of these licensing deals have been absolute head scratchers while deals that made sense were passed by.

What about the time GSK bought a PBM, can't recall the name, because Merck bought Medco, and it seemed like a good idea to ensure products were on formulary, only to find out there needed to be a firewall and you couldn't put your products in a more favorable position just because you own the PBM.

Gsk has NO future! Pharma has no pipeline, consumer is over milked, vaccines has no leadership and corp is ethically bankrupt

With the over used "HR" reference and the general low intellect comment, we all know this is yet another post by the board troll.

Hey why don't you go and do some calculations to see how moncef et al can save some money by laying off some more people instead of being a dedicated HR brown nose who gets paid a bonus to reply to silly posts...BUT let's face it, gsk sucks, just remember that we are the record holder of the largest fine

What's the prediction of the street for our Earnings on Oct 29?

The market expects an earnings surprise, that's why the stock has climbed to $42. Whether it moves higher or even remains at $42 depends upon how the market interprets R&D day. Are these 40 investigational agents in Phase 2-3 truly innovative thus allowing a premium price? There are a few gems but these are swimming upstream.

I think the stock will dip below $40 after tomorrow's earnings call. With the Phase 3 flop in cardiovascular, I think investor sentiment will be pushed over the edge. I hate to say it but perhaps a breakup into 4 companies is in the best interest of shareholders and maybe even the employees who can now have more focused leadership.

replace "agree" with "play", that more correctly states your position on this matter

Looks like you will be wrong again, Nostradamus. Earnings beat expectations and the premarket is trading up.

    Touche.

However, core earnings per share and core operating profit had significant declines. Both of these may be due to the restructuring costs I'm assuming. We'll see how the analysts view the numbers after they have their green tea lattes and frapacinnos and make it to their desks.
