How about the manager having threating conversations with reps, and sending similar texts and emails to her team? Example: 'I am sick and tired of seeing your names on lists...Moving forward you all will be getting 1's on your field coaching reports'. And you know what that means.. 1's on year end and no raises.
I'm fairly certain that she missed the compliance module on retaliation and threats etc..someone needs to go to HR and she should be fired.

Here is the thing. I have been rep here for over 10 years mainly 2.2 or 2.3. A few years ago I got a 1 not because of my manager, whether I liked him or not. I was on a few lists then a few more. I kept telling him I would take care of it over and over, like we all do and before you knew it I was behind on 1-2-3 things per month and ending up on lists. Well, it wasn't the managers fault. These lists go levels above them and if they have talked to you about something multiple times and you bogg yourself and then down by not doing it, then isn't it your fault. Grow up. This is a career- you are paid to do your job and meet all requirements of the company. You are not in college anymore- If you are not meeting requirement you should expect to be written up. You sound a bit entitled/spoiled. I have grown up over the past few years and learned what I can do better. I have children now in school and teach them to be accountable, to make sure they meet deadlines and to do their best job. I decided to practice what I preach. I guess I would say to you if you and your slacker friends are on lists this manager is doing their job to hold you accountable to complete all projects by deadline and with quality. Can't even believe I am posting at almost midnight. I will be working and not whining tomorrow so I should get some sleep. Good night- really take a moment and stop whining and really think what you can do better. I am sure you wouldn't want your parents, spouse or kids to know you were on late lists or that you weren't meeting the expectations of your job- would you? Have some pride!

Shit happens when you hire a bunch of green twinks like Ken & barbie dolls eschewing experience to save a few sheckles. Deal with your poor hiring decisions

I am not a sales rep, but work at this miserable , ass kissing, Swiss cheese company (10 yrs now) in home office functions....here is the deal :they DON'T CARE!!!!! It's all about the money, the bonus, the LTI (stock options) keep the stock price high. All of you who are reps, other pharma cos are the SAME....pick your battles and try to do your job, even at 75% effectiveness, you will be ok....play by the rules (Novartis policies) you will be ok....This company is NOT fair to all, only to those few who kiss ass preeeettttyyy ...pppppreeeettttyyy good !!!

Ed M from Philadelphia in the MSBU has to be the worst manager ever to work at Novartis

That would make CM's day. That is how he operates. He infiltrates himself into a successful region or team, takes all the credit when talking to his boss and then ships people out so that they dont get him fired. Name one person that has to report to Conrad that has been working for him more than 2 years. He either fires, forces out by taking key customers out of a territory so that numbers tank, makes up a position, or has that person take a position in another state, but remains located in the same location..i.e.charlotte team individuals that have been promoted.

I thought Vince was the king of ass kissing until I met Matt. I call them the sphincter boys.

Has to be Edward. Is this Philly manager for real? Interviewed with him but took another spot....under someone with half a brain at least.. He reminds me of a bald slow witted chimpanzee with no emotion or thought. It was like staring at a wall...... I feel bad for whoever takes the spot and whoever works under this goof..... Good luck with that. Must be cousins with the CEO or something.......LMFAO

I wonder how this guy keeps his job. Huge turnover, constant complaints, poor numbers. His current reps want out. Ex reps are thrilled they got out. Any new potential hire with half a brain would never work for him. HR needs to end this and hire a replacement who can rebuild in Philly what Ed destroyed

In my opinion Ed from Philly in the MSBU is the worst manager at Novartis and possibly the worst manager in the entire pharmaceutical industry. Turnover is huge and the remaining team has little or no respect or him. He ranks nears the bottom all the time. Probably contributed to Matt going bye bye.
