Any legitimate answers to the salary range for an Executive Sales Specialist position? I have been contacted by a recruiter for an opening and would like an idea of the salary range for this position. Recruiter would not specify. Thanks!!

You are looking at a base of ~$125 -$165 with a bonus potential of $30K. Good luck!!

unless you have no job or are about to get fired do not come here. The neuroscience business unit is a dead end. Management lacks innovation. This is an old school pharma gig that will bore most people almost immediately. Metrics matter most. They give you zero opportunity to change the call list even though it includes many inconsistencies like requiring calls on no access physicians and required binge eating calls on Pediatricians. Good bonuses if you can figure out where your quota comes from and you can stomach pushing a controlled substance with a high potential for abuse on the laughable diagnosis of binge eating disorder. All managers at all levels ride around endlessly with reps. You and your docs will have to suffer through at least 2 field ride days every month. Sales rep turnover reaching an all time high. A boring, uninspiring place to be.

There's a range like most other pharmaceutical companies based on your years of experience and your current salary. If your salary is too high (you have too much experience) this is probably not a place you would be happy. Training process is Primary Care focused and the heavy emphasis on metrics is PC, as well. It's an entry level role, so they shy a way from candidates with higher base salaries.

Well big congrats to Perry and Kathy for creating that "high performance" culture they talked about a year ago in Chicago and New Orleans. That was the beginning of the end folks. Now ask yourself, is life at Shire better than it was before these unprofessional lame ass leaders came aboard? My guess is NO! Now you see why she got the cold shoulder. We could see right through her bullshit a year ago. RIP Shire.

This is very inaccurate. It's based on your prior experience. Starts around $75k

Thank you. I plan to double dip with this job until mine runs it's course. Layoffs coming and I need to cover my ass.

Excellent. Great move! Just fake enough calls to keep you above sea level and when at national meetings make sure you run up to the VP Kathy and tell her how impressed you are with all she has accomplished. You will have no problems and can milk this gig for a few years. The leadership is too stupid to know what's going on and are so shallow that the slightest bit of fake ass kissing can potentially earn you a trip to President's Club. Go Shire!!!!!!

It's working quite well for me. Hate to be dishonest, unethical, etc. but hey, all companies are the same. They fire people on a whim.
In the end, it's all about the money. What's good for them is just as good for me.

Agreed. Screw Shire before Shire screws you. The golden rule of modern business.

Whats the training like for a new hire in neuroscience sales? a week home a week away?

And don't forget a week of hearing how great the VP of sales is. You know, things like "she's only launch billion $ brands" " She played travel sports and was heavily recruited for everything!" "When she was a rep, she blah, blah blah!"

Complete egomaniac. Just cozy up at a national meeting and tell her what an inspiration she is and how she's such a strong, successful woman... then go back to your room and vomit while forgiving yourself for being a total suck ass douchebag! You'll be an RD in no-time.

The training is entry level pharma taught by inexperienced reps. It's pathetic.

3 weeks training at HQ and then usually 1 to 2 weeks with your manager. Good luck and we hope you enjoy the Shire family!
