Recruiter says 200k first year for newer surgical division selling power, tourniquets, bone cement, etc. Expanding Sales force due to success over this past year? Top reps over 300k?
    Realistic $, yes or no?

    Serious responses only please...

False as could be. Ask for a 200k gaurentee for first year, then run.

    Interesting, thanks for the reply.
Do you know what the expected earnings are?

Any recruiter telling you to expect 200K for selling in Surgical is counting on you not doing your own homework. Look at the Surgical revenues quarter by quarter for the past 5-6 and you see where it has been heading. Ask a Surgical division employee what they spent their 2014 bonus on...oh wait...what bonus?

yeah, this is a complete joke. I've been in the industry 13 years and have heard rumors they're doing away w/ a lot of Biomet's product lines so beware. Regarding power, I know of ONE account here in the Northeast that uses Zimmer power. It's all Stryker/Conmed. As for cement, it's more or less the same depending on what you're cementing & if the surgeon has a preference for the antibiotics.......but even then, he can use the non-antibiotic version & add in his own stuff.

    Quality replies, thanks everyone.
This is a apparently a new division, direct job selling the Surgical line. Transition from distribution to focus on these particular products to gain marketshare.
Bigger focus on the capital sale.
I agree with the 200K promise being sketchy in surgical, hence the homework.
Mid career guy here looking for a place to call home for the the next 5 years at least.

    Thanks again

If you want a place to call home for the next 5 years this isn't the spot. Look at the earnings reports in this division.
