The degree to which the psychiatric community is complicit with abusive parents in drugging non-compliant children is a war crime across the generations, and there will be a Nuremberg at some point in the future!

If you're a nobody, just imagine a lot of celebrities are in love with you. Narcissism is the best cure for attention deficit disorder.

Racism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, sexism, anything Nazi and a boatload of other things have no place at the Shire.

Now we in fact know what the CEO would do. He'd admit through his actions, not words, that his current team in marketing, sales, and R&D aren't up to snuff and make a hostile bid for another company! Maybe Baxalta has the talent we need!

The CEO needs to find another company to pick on.

He doesn't have a marketing team. None of them took the job to move up to Lexington. Who would follow this shit show unless you love the stink of it?

No doubt our cultural reputation has been a barrier for companies to ally with us. Sounds like Baxalta had no interest. Too bad our internal leaders for whatever reasons can't move the company enough to mitigate the need to overpay for other companies.

too bad Shire can't take Baxalta's no for an answer.

This situation is like a man (Flemming) asking a woman (Baxalta) on a date, she says no, he cant believe it, gets outraged and start stalking her and then decides he has no other choice but to rape her.

A very horny man! This has a desperate feel about it- what will we do if we can't buy revenues? Rely on our internal leaders!!

He's taking a page out of the Valiant playbook. While also trying to stay out of their grasps and being gobbled up by them.

Smoke and mirrors my friends and pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

The papers all say that Baxalta has no interest in being acquired by us. I guess our culture and leadership aren't too appealing to other companies who have the means to resist.

It will be up to the Baxalta shareholders and in particular their largest investors. Why would a Baxalta investor wait a few years for their stock price to rise when they can make money right away if Shire gets the deal?

Maybe because they think they can generate more value on their own without a toxic culture focussed on headcount reduction, making numbers, and no exciting products.

Baxaltas largest shareholder is Baxter, with a 20% stake.
And I believe I read that no single shareholder or group of shareholders can hold no more than 10%.

This is a sick move by Shire and it makes our CEO look like a complete asshole.

My guess is that the bid was intended to show interest in ANY type of merger deal. Maybe they thought Baxalta would take in interest in Shire, either for acquisition or some negotiated merger, and that this is just the first move in the dance.
