And cash 30-70k a month paychecks. Should always start with that one.

No surgeon gives a shit what a device is "indicated for" because they already know, and are either doing the procedure as indicated or not, definitely not asking a medical devices rep that during a procedure

I have been a rep for over 10 years. I've had probably 100% of all surgeons I have worked with ask about using a product off label. You are clueless to what goes on in an OR. Especially when shit hits the fan.

    Exactly this ^
I love to read the brainless ASR comments on here. Surgeons don't ask you anything because you are nothing to them. They don't trust a word that comes out of your rookie mouth. Now ask your senior rep how many times off label use gets mentioned. The More You Know.

They are to young to remember "the more you know". Great though.

Finally, a voice of reason. The disdain for the profession, wether pharma or device never existed 10 years ago. You're animals

Been in device for 23 years _ never has a surgeon asked me if a product use was on or off label…..wtf are you talking about

Been in 5 years and even had brand new surgeons ask about off label use for certain products. Obviously surgeons go to academy and learn from eachother. Who knows how much off label talk they do. In your 23 years you must not see bad trauma, or you work with simpletons. Off label use is extremely common.

Yea is real common - they never ask if it on or off label! They don't have to ask because they can do what they feel is best for the patient. They certainly wouldn't ask a Stryker rep for permission....

You ever had to testify in a court case that is against your surgeon? If it's off label use and you are in the room, (in patients chart) you better remind him at the least. I had to look one in the eye during a court case and remind him I said this is off label use. I am not taking any blame for a bad outcome of a product used for something it was not indicated for. America is way to sue happy. We all have insurance but who wants to use it? Protect yourself at the very least, court is not fun. Your surgeon will throw you under the bus to protect their reputation in a heart beat.

Hey, didn't bother to read the responses, or even the initial post. I just have to say that this is, without question, the gayest subject in a CP thread that has ever been drafted. Kudos to you.
