Has anyone used a resume writing service? How did you choose which one to use? Do you think it made a difference in your job search? What about linked in profile editing services? I have seen less than stellar reviews about the assigned outplacement service, so figure I may be on my own? Can anyone comment? Thanks

It is very sad with all the models in the internet, that you are unable to write our own !

I did. I was just advised by multiple people that it is worth considering a service given the large number of people with similar backgrounds as myself who are on the market now.

If you are figuring you are on you own at this point I think you may be a lost cause. The job service gsk provides sucks. You are in sales and right now the only product in your bag is you. If you were waiting for the company that laid you off to sell you and find you a new job then you may not be worth hiring.

Go get after it, everyday. Don't wait for someone else to do it. Use a resume service - don't listen to the guy who said craft your own from the Internet. Styles change and you might be basing yours on a dated example. But seriously, this is on you. Go after it everyday and you will land somewhere faster than you think.

Your lack of empathy, condescending attitude, superiority complex and constant defending of this horrible corp aka gsk, reveal that you must be in gsk HR and be paid by the post by gsk! Or you feel good policing this board ....
Moron, this is a portal where people who work in sales can decompress. Go away! Go prepare some separation letters

Point to one place that I defend GSK, you can't. Lack of empathy? Seriously? I am one of you and if you need a hug, go ask your mom for one. If you need a shoulder to cry on, go ask your wife. If you want advice, then grow the fuck up and Listen to me. No one is going to hand you a job. Not GSK, not any bozo company they contract out to to help laid off reps get their shit together - that's all feel good bullshit. This is on you. Sit around and watch your severance tick away or listen to me and go after it like you want to prove to all that they laid off the wrong mother fucker. It's all up to you. You land fast enough and you might even double dip, that's the sweet spot. But don't ever accuse me of being HR or a corporate guy. If you do then clearly you've missed my point.

The only person who could disagree with what I write is an HR shill or GSK upper management type. Condescending? Whatever. Don't listen to me, spend your time going to the twat wads GSK hired to pat you on the back and tell you it's going to be ok. Good luck with that.

Hi troll. I don't see too many people that are actually agreeing with you and your moronic posts.

You just prove my point...you are a moron! Go back to your gsk hr manager and ask how can I lay off people today boss and hire some contract workers? Gsk is a bozo company....f u

I am confused. How many idiots actually work here? So don't listen to me then. Let a GSK (the same company that laid you off ) contracted career coach guide your next steps. That sounds smart. You wait by the phone, take your time. It will all be ok.
