The sole purpose of CTL's now is to force reps to leave so Merck doesn't have to offer mass layoff packages. What you think is an isolated situation has been mass orchestrated by upper management for quite a while.

Some reps seem to be like cats....they have nine lives....and resurface, resurface, resurface.

I think your statement applies more to CTLs and DCOs

Some reps are amazing how they'll work the system to get their way, again and again and again. Cast away the intellect the pro level dancing details....they're really expert at one thing, manipulation.

Those who know, get the picture on them. Never will they get tossed....
They're like CTLs ....hard to get rid of.

The raw truth is its usually the hardest working and most dedicated (but utterly naive) who wind up getting canned, screwed and forgotten. They're usually too involved with doing the company business. They get sidetracked with crossing of t's and dotting of i's. They fail on one thing -- not seeing you can get set up to win the get tossed lottery....

    Wise up....

Tiffany is only interested in uncovering what people are doing wrong so she can throw them under the bus to Napoleon. She's trying to save her own BonJovi ass first and foremost

Tiffany sounds like a broad with a mission....
Just like her jock strap counterpart....
The winds and things are always blowing around those parts...

CTL taking samples for personal use is a time honored tradition. Try to use your cell phone to photograph them in the sample closet or when the samples are back to the car. That's the time to ask "Coach" very sweetly... are those samples for personal use ? explain that you thought it was "ok" to take them for personal use. My CTL took the bait and explained that allergies are a real burden in August so the occasional antihistamine makes it possible to talk without sneezing.

Got the cellphone photo when he stepped out of the car at our next stop. Oh compliance... are the CTLs allowed to steal ???

    Honest, upstanding citizens employed here???
    Nah...common thieves will do.

Get the handcuffs.....this could be a citizens arrest.

And that is why you are among the other loser managers at a dying company. Good luck with your job search. It's coming.

CTL = customer team leader is a poor choice of words....
FIRST, these managers rarely know anything about the customers.....
SECOND, they rarely lead anything except being first on the chow line when they drop in on RFMs.....

Now, thinking CTL=Coaching to lose....is just as wacked..
Its a never does it happen, when it comes to coaching....
The most coaching any rep will get is a glance and the famous comments, "I didn't see this" ..."you didn't do that." (Yep, even though it might have been impossible for the rep to do say or do that very thing) This is it. Period, end of story. This is being written up in your year end...
Not an utterance of anything related to coaching happens for most reps....
No instruction, no role play, no examples...nothing to give a clue on what they want.

.....and so out the door the reps will go!

Big problem around these parts is gettin' a dammmmm good CTL, BM...

Little dictators, creeps, ego freaks, stuck-ups, dips, drips, crazies and lazies and lets not forget the all around bad news dumbos who favor drinkin' cheatin' and hanging with rep babes by the bundle!!! We have enough toxicity with these pathetic nightmare managers....

Major celebration with they get canned!

A certain vaccine DCO in the Midwest is the same way. He has been hit with policy violations, years of poor sales performance and numerous CTL's quitting because they cannot stand his never satisfied micromanagement style but he never gets disciplined. How is this guy so bullet proof? How much dirt does he have on upper management. It's crazy!!!

There are CTLs in this company who are never satisfied with anything! These ctls will never mention the above and beyond work of the studious work horses ....but they will praise the slackers and goof balls who sell with back slaps, party balloons and spiked heels. Its all about a certain skill real workers usually lack......the AK. Its a well refined skill that has become a science.

From what many reps see kissing up and being a well practiced phony are probably the skills of advancement. Without these plastic gems...you spin your wheels.

Really is rather pathetic.....that coaching to win does not teach reps science and professionalism over cheapness and chit chat...
