The Universal Zulu Nation stands to acknowledge wisdom, understanding, freedom, justice, and equality, peace, unity, love, and having fun, work, overcoming the negative through the positive, science, mathematics, faith, facts, and the wonders of God, whether we call him Allah, Jehovah, Yahweh, or Jah. Consider this relocation seriously.

You just scared off more people than before. You also forgot one other important zulu stance - "You're cookoo for cocoa puffs!"

This is a poster determined to derail negative threads. Ignore it and post whatever.

Agreed. Can we just ignore these posts intended to derail any conversation on CP. It's obvious KK and PS have their cronies doing this. Playing into it only details it further. Just ignore it.

Agreed! Back to it. Given the state of HR and the level of "new talent" we are attracting, there is no other safe forum for us. It is amazing the company isn't more concerned with its external reputation. Those of us trying to do a job continue to be demoralized by the lack of leadership, lack of new products, and sick of the "we gonna be a biotech " spin. I wish we have even 1/10th the leadership that Celgene has. Instead we have our media hungry CEO, and KK as the icing.

Exactly. Check out the piece the WSJ did on Shire recently. It's basically revisionist history of what went down here. I wish the reporter went to real people for the scoop as opposed to a couple who are connected to Flemming & Perry.

Just saw the article- "revisionist" is a rather mild description for the distortions. Lazy reporter and a puff piece I suppose. Too bad we don't have dynamic leadership instead of media wannabes spinning a story. At some point when we can't hire more cheap labor, downsize more people, raise prices, and overpay for new products, maybe someone will tell a different story.

I don't know how to say it, but after last night I feel different. I seem to see ahead, in a kind of way. I know we are going to take a very long road, into darkness; but I know I can't turn back. It isn't right to see Elves now, nor dragons, nor mountains, that I want - I don't rightly know what I want: but I have something to do before the end, and it lies ahead, not in the Shire. I must see it through, sir, if you understand me.

Any real reporting would have reached out to people other than the two hand picked cronies that were quoted. I'm guessing this was planted by PR and some summer intern at the journal took the piece and submitted it for press.

This was a PR placement and an embarrassment for WSJ. They could have spoken to anyone here for another view. Agree HR or FO must have provided interview subjects. I mean anyone remember fist bumps for FO anytime ? So dynamic.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.

The WSJ piece was passed around here. Everyone got a chuckle doing a fist bump. Best part was the "new" severance, not exactly a contract unless you're one of the dirty 30.

I was considering this relocation to Lexington as well ( I would be a new hire) but as others have echoed on this thread, the stability of this company and cost of living in the Boston area make me hesitant.

I live in the Philly suburbs.

Many of us from Philly didn't make the move. Plenty of jobs in Philly area so no need to move. People who didn't relocate are all landing well in the Philly area.

Agreed. If you are young and mobile with no family to consider then maybe, but only if your boss is not tied to Flemming's posse. I would still be cautious though.

Plenty of action in Philly, Montgomery and Central NJ so choose wisely. Good luck.

Seller and buyer Beware: The relocation companies are all different so do research and better to protect yourself. Ask what inspections were done on property. If the owner of home or relocation company did their own inspections- get a 2nd opinion always. Ask to see the contracts they have in place should something go wrong. They act like they will buy and sell your home hassle free but if there is a problem you are slapped with a lawsuit. They Wash their hands of it completely and you are in a hellacious mess. Biggest take away: Extreme Caution if buying a home that is being sold by a Corp relocation company, any problems with house they will go away and leave you hanging with a problem that can't be undone due to contract issues. Guess what? Employees selling their homes through relocation are actually incentived by their employer to sell their home in the shortest period of time for the biggest cash bonus. That means they are incentivized to possibly fib (being polite) regarding condition of home, this can leave you with huge damage because you are locked into a contract that you can't get out of due to relo company saying "not our fault". Ask your employers to ask relo company for more accountability. Ask them what protection or safety net you have working with a relo company whether you are buyer or seller. Ask that your real estate agent is trained to Educate you as seller or buyer of the risks. There are many. Lastly Do NOT sign contract or sign relo waiver whether a seller or buyer without an attorney review. There, unfortunately, are zero checks and balances which puts innocent people in danger.
