Sorry to inform you that Alcon is a medical device company and not pharma.

Why do you want to be in pharma anyway? Over the last two decades, there has been massive consolidation within this industry due to weak pipelines and products going off patent. To make things worse, the docs, patients and FDA became more enlightened about the dark side of this industry (Vioxx dodge ball, bribery charges, fraudulent studies published in medical journals, illegal marketing of drugs, price fixing, class action suits over product safety, removal of unsafe products from the market, massive gender discrimination law suits, illegal clinical trial involving children in Africa, criminal investigations and convictions in China, record corporate fines - The list goes on and on.

 

Not a device company....a company for sale!

 

Awful quiet. Not sure if it's the summer slowdown at HO or this will be a fast and furious sales demolition. Anybody know anything relevant?

 

Having survived 3+ layoffs over the years (I've lost count), I get the feeling this may be the calm before the storm. Hopefully not.

Two people in my dept were let go last week. It's isn't over till it's over.

 

Um because I do whatever I want, make good money, spend a ton of time with my kids, take vacations whenever I want and generally live life. Enjoy your 6am trip to the OR and constantly being a slave to your phone while I sip cocktails in my pool at noon on Tuesday.

 

June came and went with no layoffs. What is the latest update?
