I just happened upon this board and have a parent on oxygen through another company right now. I'm sick of the kind of service and treatment he gets from his present oxygen company, and am wondering how to get Rotech to open a location near me.

I tried calling the headquarters in Orlando today but anyone who could talk to me took the day off.

After reading this forum why in the world would you want your parent on service with rotech? Do you hate your parent?

Yea- I've read all the crying on here, but these independent medical suppliers don't have a board like this for which to vent. I suspect they would also be talking smack if they did.
That does'nt negate that Rotech offers things that independents don't, like being able to travel on oxygen while being supported anywhere a patient travels.

What a great idea! A national O2 company!

Rotech is far from covering the entire country. Just get a damn poc for your parent. Medicare will cover it....rotech will tell you otherwise though.

Nope. Poc's are not only unreliable, but cannot put out the bolus amount of oxygen vs concentrator and ocd regulators.

Ha! We got a letter from Rotech yesterday expressing an interest in selling out to Rotech.
I think my prayers may have been answered.

The dumbest thing about Rotech is that they don't use the name on a national level. Every acquisition they made still use the name they had 20 years ago. They have no national image because of it and thus no ability to operate as a national. Traveling with 02 can by handled by any independent provider and sometimes its better than watching the nationals argue and bicker with themselves.
