Isn't "Advanced" and "Laparoscopic specialist" an oxy moron? Those 2 words should not be in any job title.

I don't think you know what you are talking about. Go back to business school.

Could you be more specific? $100k total comp? $150k?

I was contacted recently from an internal recruiter about an ALS position. From the outside looking in it seems like a better opportunity than the TM position. It's a smaller division (under 30 reps) so I'm sure the masses will cafe bash but if possible could a current ALS rep provide feedback on money potential and overall morale? I've been told 140-160 total comp.

All I can tell you is that I was hired as a Procedure Specialist (same type of position from what it sounds like). I was told comp would be in the $150K-$170 range. 1st quarter was tracking at around $145K (Acceptable), next quarter tracking around $110K for the year, third quarter $110K for the year. Lets assume I was the worst person in the company at that position. At the time there were $42 of us I believe. Commission was supposed to be $20K-25K per quarter. Once person was around $15K and nobody else was over $10K for the quarter. When 41 people out of 42 are not even half of what comp is supposed to be it is the company. Find something else or you will be looking again in 9 months.

How long ago was that? From what I hear things have slightly improved over the years?

last few months. Please stop with the posts that are attempting to refute the truth of what really goes on here. You sound unintelligent and it wouldn't surprise me if you are one of the CEO's daughters/family members.

nope...just inquiring. Any experienced cafepharma viewer can weed through the garbage like you above. But this board is unlike any other I've ever seen. There are basically no positive posts, but the negativity seems to be geared more towards the TM or associate position.

I was the one who posted about the procedure specialist and that was about 2 years ago. It is my understanding that this still holds true. What you will find out is that most pay comes from growth. The more you make sooner the more it hurts you later. Think about this. The guy who grows 100% in 1 year and then holds that business for the next 2 years is hurt more than the guy who grows 20% then another 20% then another 20% even though 100% is better than 20% straight for 3 years.

    Person 1
    Example $100K to $200K then $200K then $200K. That is $600K total.

    Person 2
    $100K to $120K then $144K and then $173K. That is $437K total.

Person who does $437K total is better off pay wise

remember ladies and gentlemen, Applied Medical is a company for rejects and nobodies who either can't sell, are desperate for a job, or are looking for a job straight out of college. We have an associate program for associates now! How pathetic is that? This company is corrupt from the top down feeding only those who vow to the tyrannical leader that is Mr. Hilal. This has to be one of the few companies on Cafepharma that have a dedicated team to doing damage control because so many reps (prior and present) feel the need to talk negatively about Applied.

no, thank YOU for proving my point you incompetent slug. Nobody writes thank you on these boards and its comparable to saying "k" on a txt message. No point. Now go back to milking your camels.

The position in the Dallas/FTW area was vacant for over 2 years before they filled it with an internal candidate. 2 years vacancy if that is any indication of how important that position is. Better than a TM or Implementation Specialist, realistic comp is probably 120k to count on. If stars line up maybe 140k. Applied doesn't pay reps consistently. As soon as you hit 140k you'll get promoted to ADM DM associate give you 5k raise in base and screw you on commission and you are back to 120k. One you take out the $800 per month you pay for insurance and non matching 401k ($500 per year) it's not a good move unless you are about to be on the street.
