Well if you didn't come out of that conference call feeling a bit sick to your stomach you probably didn't listen very close.

First off, I appreciate Jeff E. being honest and not filling us full of BS like Don B. He could not guarantee future layoffs, but at this time doesn't plan any further. Well that is true, but will most likely change in the next few months, and he understands that. He admitted that Brisdelle will never be the product they hoped but still has growth potential and will be promoted that way. Ok, define growth? 1% a year? 5%? Realistically, it can't be much... He also said that Minivelle faces challenges through the rest of this year and over the next couple years from generic intrusion. For the remaining sales force we had better hope the "intrusion" is slow, otherwise we are in big trouble. But reality is that generics will soon make ground into Minivelle sales. Here's an ingenious idea to slow the Minivelle intrusion: GIVE US SAMPLES!!!! STOP SPENDING MONEY ON BRISDELLE AND PUT A LITTLE INTO MINIVELLE LIKE YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE 18 MONTHS AGO!!!!

If you listened there is pretty much nothing sales force related in Noven's pipeline for the next several years. Everything is for the generic market and they have even had to cut back on some of the R&D programs for cost savings. Like I have said on other threads, Noven will be around and making money, just without a sales force. I took the entire call as a warning of dark days ahead for sales unless we find a co promote with someone soon.

If you haven't gotten the hint yet, there may be no help for you. For the rest, it is time to start looking for anything else out there. I think we have 3-6 months max. Hope I'm wrong and things improve or Noven buys something for us to sell, but is there anything inside Noven right now to give you hope you'll be employed here in 6-9 months? I'll keep doing my job, because I'm being paid and it's the right thing to do, but in my free time I'll be looking.

If you're not happy then leave and let us take care of business. We're back to the pre brisdelle size and have sales people like DB, SB, PC and now RE in charge trying to make it happen. Seems alot better then before.

A lot better than before? Are you that stupid? Yeah 2 drugs that have no future and 70 people let go. Things are so great now. What a moron! It will be soon for you too.

I'm not saying the original post is right or wrong, but I do have a question for you:

First: I'm interested, in your opinion, on how these four men are going to "make it happen?" I'm not trying to be a a jerk, I'm serious. I just wonder what these four can do differently, with less sales people, that is going to change the course of Minivelle and Brisdelle? Mini has generic competition. Jeff E said it will lose ground. That is fact, and it will. Brisdelle is approaching its two year anniversary, had one-hundred million dollars spent on advertising and is struggling to stay afloat. What would you, or these people you listed, do differently to (again) make it happen? I can't think of any drug in history that performed poorly for two years and then suddenly took off, can you?

Second: What does "seems a lot better than before" mean, if anything? Either it is better or it is not. What evidence do you have for that statement?

Third: "If you're not happy then leave and let us take care of business." This is a common statement on CafePharma that sounds so strong up front but really carries zero weight. If everyone quit that wasn't happy with their job, I think there would be very few people working. Then the few who were left, that loved their job, would end up hating it because they would have to pick up more work from the people who left. Which would then mean, they would hate their job and end up quitting. Before you know it no one is working.... Now here I'm being a smart a$$. But when you make that comment, it is really the only reply one can give. I, personally, think that people who take the time to come on here and post (as long as it is not personal threats and their comment has some merit) care more about their job than the person who is either 1) too scared to post, or 2) is too lazy to even take the time. I found nothing in the OP statement that made me think this person hates their job. Sounded concerned and wanting to protect their best interest. Seems natural. Would you rather have them say; "Wow, we just had our second layoff in 6 months and Brisdelle and Minivelle are not looking so great, but things are awesome. No need to worry cause everything in pharmaceuticals always works out perfect and we all have nothing to worry about. Go Noven, Go Noven, Go Noven!.." Then just stab them in the back, right?

Fourth: I'm also interested in why you listed DB before SB on your list of who's in charge? Freudian slip?

Botz is a buffoon. List him 1 or 2, doesn't matter, you should all be scared. SB is a good dude but a total marketing guy. Needs a better gig than trying to save this Titanic, but hey, if he's dumb enough stay on with the Noven debacle he deserves what he gets. Thank God I left this circle jerk for a better gig...good luck to all my friends over there. You're all so much better than you've gotten from those above you. There are plenty of good jobs out there, I suggest you be proactive.

Really? Cutbacks are "a lot better then before"....a lot better than before?

Since when are cutbacks better? Since when does the standard become pre-launch size when you're trying like h e l l to launch? Since when do you want good people to leave.....you think the 4 mentioned above are going to walk into offices in Pennsylvania or Oklahoma or Colorado and miraculously spike product sales??? You're drunk on kook-aid, person. Get a grip and face reality.

Actually the ship has already sunk. Now the few left are floating in life rafts that are leaking air. DB is up front saying "all is ok" while a few people have their fingers stuck in the holes to stop the leaking....

As long as Mini doesn't drop there won't be cutbacks anytime soon. But I find it hard to believe that this won't happen. Mini will eventually start to lose ground to generics. When that happens there will be no choice but to cut again. Just hope Mini gives us 6 months to find jobs.

Somber day today in Miami as 40-plus good people bid their final farewells, many of whom have given many, many years of dedicated service. Shame to see the so much of the bad management that bullied and helped drive this still remain.
