How dare Inventiv decide to take away PTO days and Holidays! Do they think we are stupid, and for Greg DH to sit there and say he didn't know to what extreme people would lose days, then he is just as stupid. This is wrong to do this to hard working employees, well for those of us who do actually work, most folks in the company will lose at least a week if not more, that is completely ridiculous!
Well i suppose we shouldn't expect anything less from a company that has not done a thing to impress the employees it bought out. I am sure more people will leave and the PTO policy is a good way to do that, why stay when you can start a new job and get more PTO then you do here for 5, 6, 7 or 8 years of service.
This place is a joke, and the higher management should be ashamed of themselves, and Greg D is right up there, he will lie to your face. This place sucks and is a joke and all Inventiv, or excuse me Pharmanet/i3, has done is treat employees like crap! Fix the PTO policy and let us keep what we already earned with our blood, sweat and tears, and let new hires adapt to the new pto policy. Get it together Inventiv because right now YOU SUCK!

I am former UHG and went from 23 to 17 days + we lost one vacation day.

Does anyone know the former PharmaNet policy?

Could anyone give more details on this new PTO policy as this is quite the news? Thanks

It's not pretty for former UHG employees I can tell you that much. As PP noted, we had 23 days annually as new hires under UHG/i3 and now we only have 17 days from 0-5 years of service unless you are Associate Director or above, then you get 22 -- still not even as much as with the new hire PTO at UHG/i3.

You get +5 more days for every 5 years of service thereafter.

There are references to the policy being 'on par with other companies in our market' but I can attest to the fact that this is NOT the case since I have many friends that work at other mid to large CROs. It feels a little like bait and switch for those of us with tenure at the former UHG/i3 since we signed on with a set of expectations as to certain perks and benefits. I guess this is what happens when companies are bought, sold, merged, and the employess and their service to the company is viewed as more of a liability than an asset when the decision-makers are looking at their forecasts and budgets for the combined companies.

I think we need to get used to it, or find somewhere else to work eh?

Agreed that all we can do is get used to it or find a new place to work. Still I'd like to point out that we also lost 2 floating holidays and MLK day, so we are now looking at 9 days. That's nearly an entire paycheck. You add that to the 1.5% we lost in the 401(k) match and we are more than -5% from where we started last year. This will be a tough sale to get high-demand employees to stick around. Here's hoping we at least get a raise. Fingers crossed.

More layoffs today at PharmaNet i3 - it's almost as if they WANT us to jump ship so they don't have to fire us. A Project Director of more than 17 years, Global Head of Central Files, and others - it's amazing they haven't taken the coffee machine away from us after the PTO reduction. Shame on Inventiv/PharmaNet/i3.

More quality people were let go today. This is far from over as they continue to clean house.

The inventiv people got screwed too, trust me - massive benefits cut. I don't know whose idea this all was but I heard of someone getting laid off in my department and now I'm worried about it too. Even so if they think I'm going to keep working over 50 hours a week when they cut my benfits they are crazy, I'm sticking to 40 hours and they can shove it.

I hope management reads this. We've got people working 60, 70, 80 hours a week because BD just sells, sells, sells, only cares about winning bids, but the staff isn't robust enough to do the work in a reasonable workweek. Then they take away floating holidays and basically eliminate sick days because if you want the same amount of PTO you had before you can never call in sick once. So people get burnt out. And they expect people to stay? Who is going to put in that much time to meet a deadline knowing that the company only cares about winning bids and not working the employees to death?

I don't work at this company, I'm at another CRO. Being overworked and under compensated is a standard for CROs but it sounds like your company has taken it to a new level by taking away your PTO. My suggestion is you take it back where you can. longer lunches and leaving early if you can for office employees/ 6 hour days for remote employees. It sounds like this might be a sinking ship and you don't want to give them your extra time. You won't get anything back for it except maybe a pink slip.

It sounds like the pharmanet senior management has completely taken over. Nothing's left of inventiv even though inventiv bought the company, they gave pharmanet and jeff mcmullen all of the power. he seems to hate his employees. both the inventiv workers and the i3 workers were much happier before pharmanet came along and took away all of their benefits. the turnover is going to be astounding. A lot of people haven't left yet because they work from home, but the company will lose everyone over this.

It wasn't just i3 and inVentiv folks who lost PTO, we lost a ton of days at PharmaNet too... Most of whom I have spoken with are anywhere from 4-9 days...I lost more than a week's worth (week, not work week)...

This all came from Liberty Lane, the private equity guys who are here to squeeze every last drop of "productivity" (aka. money).

Typical corporate greed and ignorance. More productivity will be lost due to new hire training when the existing employees leave. More meetings will need to be held with sponsors when people leave mid-project and budgets will be blown. This was very foolish.

Fuck Inventiv and this fucked-up VC bullshit. Last year, i3's mantra was 'do the best work you can possibly do, and we'll worry about the hours later', and now it's "Go faster! Oh, and by the way, fuck you on your benefits package, and anyone who doesn't like it can find another place to work!"

    We are, you douches.

From what I've seen, LOTS of people are finding other places to work... and Pharmanet/i3 is frantically trying to hire enough people to keep the place going...

inVentiv seems to think that they own both the company AND its employees... I guess they figured that in this economy, no one would have anywhere else to go. But people are finding other jobs and leaving, and it seems that they are having trouble hiring people for the open positions at Pharmanet/i3...

I hope potential hires find this discussion board, so they know it's a company to be avoided!
